flight

waiting in traffic i am often blessed by the birds... rows and rows of birds just sitting on the wires above me....
then startled, or not, they suddenly as if with one mind lift off.... many many birds diving and swooping in one direction and then another with all but a few in one accord.
is there a leader that i'm simply not aware of?
might they indeed really fly with one mind? i don't know and it really doesn't matter anyway.
their show is beautiful. the sun shimmers off their wings in varying shades of opalescent silver and grey. the angle each bird holds to the sun determines the brightness of the color it reflects. even its angle in relation to its community effects its shine. the few out of sync add texture to the design of oneness they create.
some in light. some in shadow. taking turns framing each other's glory.
sometimes the birds mount as two separate flocks... flying their own patterns... and then... flying right through each other... each flock maintaining its own individuality. other times the flocks actually swell in the air... combining the two into one... just for the fun of it.
they dance. they swoop. they play. they dive. they chatter. they sing. they light on the wire. they are just being birds. they are doing singly and in community what they do best - being birds.
lightworkers. they are lightworkers...lost in the joy of abandonment... oblivious of me below still waiting in traffic...amazed...expanded in their joy
me too god me too. mary

Dear Mary,
I really enjoyed this post, as usual.
One of the things that I've recently come to enjoy, in the energetic sense, is that in appreciating something like birds in flight, we may be pretty well assured in a spiritual, and even scientific, sense that we are not completely separate from these birds and their experience.
My soul flies with a bird in flight, if I allow myself to be open to the experience.
Thank you for re-inspiring that idea.
